Meet the Team: Sidney Buys November 19, 2024 Sidney Buys is the newest member of Samaritan’s Broker Support Team, joining the team in August. She has only been in her new role for several months, but she’s no stranger to the health plans business. Sidney has been with Samaritan for over six years and brings a good deal of experience from other departments in the organization. She started as a customer service representative, spending three years in that position before working in enrollment for another three years. “You’d hear from members – particularly older Medicare members – who didn’t have anyone they could turn to for help navigating the sometimes confusing world of health insurance and Medicare,” Sidney says. “Now I feel like I’m helping the people who help our members through the process, and it’s very gratifying.” When she’s not at work, Sidney and her husband enjoy spending outdoor time with their black lab, Boomer. They are also big college football fans and spend many Saturday game days in the loud confines of Autzen Stadium cheering on their beloved Oregon Ducks.
