Samaritan & MultiCare Complete Affiliation to Strengthen Local Healthcare November 2, 2026 Samaritan Health Services officially joined MultiCare Health System Sunday, Nov. 1, to strengthen health services across the mid-Willamette Valley and central Oregon Coast. As part of the partnership, MultiCare has committed to investing $700 million over 10 years to expand access to care, recruit and retain clinicians, support workforce development and improve facilities and technology across Samaritan’s region. Samaritan remains locally led as part of MultiCare, with local knowledge and community needs helping guide future priorities. “The people who live here count on Samaritan, and we chose this partnership to strengthen our ability to serve them for generations to come,” said Marty Cahill, Samaritan president and CEO, who is now also senior vice president and chief executive of MultiCare’s Oregon Coast to Cascades Region. “MultiCare brings expertise and resources that will help us meet the changing healthcare needs of our region and support our clinicians and employees in their work every day. We move forward with a deep commitment to our communities and confidence in what we can accomplish together.” “We are proud to welcome Samaritan to MultiCare and to invest in the future of healthcare in these communities,” said Bill Robertson, MultiCare’s CEO. “Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors in the Willamette Valley and central Oregon coast by improving access, delivering exceptional care and helping people live healthier lives.” A locally led regional strategic planning process, informed by community needs and perspectives, will guide longer-term service priorities and investments. Improvements will advance thoughtfully over time. “For patients and families, the promise of this affiliation is better access to the care they need,” said Florence Chang, president of MultiCare. “Our teams will work in partnership to understand where the needs are greatest and how our combined expertise can help meet those needs. We will measure our progress by the difference we make for the people we serve.” Leaders from Samaritan and MultiCare joined community partners Monday at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital to celebrate the affiliation and unveil signage featuring both organizations’ logos. The event is part of a week of employee and community celebrations across Samaritan’s region.
