Your enrollment in Medicare is automatic if you already are receiving Social Security retirement benefits. If you are delaying retirement, you are eligible for Medicare, but you must sign up for it.

Call or visit your local Social Security office to enroll in Medicare.You can enroll in Medicare Part A and Part B at your local Social Security office, through www.ssa.gov or by calling 800-772-1213, TTY users call 800-325-0778. Individuals may also enroll by calling 1-800-Medicare (800-633-4227), TTY users call 877-486-2048.
Sign up for a Medicare health plan so benefits are ready and waiting for you when you turn age 65.
