Equity for All Is a Priority

Equity and inclusion are more than just buzz words. We all have an opportunity to provide Samaritan Health Services’ patients and Health Plan members with the highest quality of care and consideration in a nondiscriminatory manner.

As a reminder, this includes:
Treatment: All plan members deserve to be treated with dignity and respect while obtaining covered services in a prompt, professional and ethical manner.

Accessibility: Members, with all plan coverages, deserve full and equal access to health care services and facilities.

Grievances: Receiving grievances is an important way for each of us to improve and respond to the needs of members. Our members understand they have the right to file complaints or grievances and should be able to do so without the fear of losing their insurance or their provider relationships.

In addition, members understand they will not face discrimination based on age, race, color, creed, religion, gender, sexual preference, national origin or on the basis that the member is enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid.

Fostering an inclusive and welcoming organization is an integral part of who we are. It is reflective of our Samaritan Health System mission of Building Healthier Communities Together and of our PRIDE values (Passion, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence). Please refer to your contract with Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) and the 2020 Provider Manual for more details.

For more information on preventing discrimination, please visit Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act or contact SHP Provider Relations at [email protected] or 541-768-5207.
