New: Online Provider Directory Review Is Available July 29, 2020 The National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) serves as the national system designed to assign unique identifiers to health care providers and for health plans that apply for the National Provider Identifier (NPI). The NPPES collects, stores and shares important provider information so keeping this data system accurate is important. As of Jan. 1, 2020, NPPES began allowing providers to attest to the accuracy of their NPI data. If your information is correct, you will be able to attest to it and NPPES will record and reflect the attestation date. If your information is not correct, when you request any change to the NPI record, you will be able to attest to your changed NPI data. CMS will publish the latest certification date for each NPI in the NPI Registry as well as the NPPES dissemination file. Please visit NPPES to ensure the provider directory information we have on file for your providers is accurate. You can also review a list of frequently asked questions regarding the use of NPPES.
