With a Samaritan Advantage plan, you have lots of options for getting the routine and specialty care you need. You’re free to use any of the doctors, specialists and hospitals that are part of our network, including those outside the Samaritan family.
It’s comforting to know that more than 90% of the doctors, hospitals and clinics in our area, and numerous specialists from Portland to Eugene, are all part of the Samaritan Health Plans network.

In general, beneficiaries must use network providers to access their medical benefits, except in non-routine circumstances requiring urgent or emergent care. A prior authorization is required to see a non-contracted provider. If you don’t have appropriate authorization from our plan before you see a provider that is not part of our plan’s network, you may have to pay for the services he/she provided you with.

This plan pays for vision examinations, and corrective lenses and frames when prescribed by a licensed ophthalmologist or licensed optometrist, for you and your insured dependents. The Plan allows you to choose any licensed ophthalmologist, optician, or optometrist. However, for eye examinations, there is a difference in reimbursement for participating vision providers and non-participating vision providers.

Teladoc is a telehealth service available every day of the year, 24 hours a day, for members. It provides on-demand health care, including video visits, from a website or mobile app.
Teladoc is an option to get more immediate care when you are out of town or your primary care provider may not be available. There is no copay or out-of-pocket costs for Teladoc visits.
Teladoc providers can diagnose, treat and prescribe medication for non-emergency conditions. These include treatments for the flu, sore throats, eye infections, bronchitis and much more.
